Puja is one kind of devotion to Jinendra Bhagwan. It is normally carried out first thing in the morning after bathing and with clean clothing. If one can avoid eating before the ceremony, that is best because one should feel that how can I eat before having shown my devotion to Bhagwan. The real benefit of such worship is to keep away from the passions and pleasures of the senses.
You need some ingredients called
'argh' in order to carry out the ceremony (though you can also
do Puja without these ingredients). These ingredients and there
significance are as follows:
JAL Pure water - to wash away cycle of birth and death CHANDAN Sandalwood water - to cool the fire of worldly existence AKSHAY Unbroken white rice - to achieve the non-destroyable state of Siddh Bhagwan PUSHPA Yellow coloured rice - to destroy lust and passion NAYVED White coconut - to win victory over greed DIP Yellow coloured coconut - to destroy the darkness of delusion DHUP Incense - to destroy all 8 types of karmas PHAL Fruit - to attain the fruit of complete liberation
ARGH is a collection
