Rakshabandhan, Pratishta Day & Benshreeben’s 100th Janma Jayanti

Wednesday 21st – Sunday 25th August, 2013

This year Rakshabandhan/Pratishta Day falls on Wednesday 21st August followed by Benshreeben’s 100th Janma Jayanti on Thursday 22nd August 2013. Benshreeben has been instrumental in augmenting the true understanding of ‘self’ that was re-initiated by Pujya Gurudev and to celebrate all the above events, there will take place a Panchkalyanak Vidhaan Puja from Wednesday 21st August – Sunday 25th August. The programmes will follow the usual weekly programme apart from Sunday 25th August when we will also have the Vadhaamna ceremony:

Subhashbhai’s Visit
Tuesday 16th July (PM) – Sunday 21st July (PM) 2013

We are pleased to announce that Subhashbhai, a well-known Jain scholar and Pratishta Acharya, will be amongst us from the 16th to 21st July 2013. He has lectured in London, Nairobi and USA in the past and has been very well-received. On this visit, he will take the topics of: Sansaar Dukh & Moksha Sukh, Anekant & Panch Paravartan. Few will need introduction of Dr Hukumchand Bharill who is one of our most accomplished speakers with a unique vision for the development of Jainism. He has authored numerous books on Jainism and strives to propagate tattva-prachar with vigour and fervour. He will be in London next week from Friday 7th June PM – Thursday 13th June PM and will hold regular swadhyay as timetabled below:

2612 years ago, the last Tirthankar of our current cycle, Mahavir Bhagwan, was born. His teachings have been instrumental in propagating the knowledge of Jainism in our time and forthcoming times to come. This year, Mahavir Jayanti falls on Tuesday 23rd April. This day also holds special relevance for us as it was also on this day in 1934 that Pujya Gurudev’s parivartan took place. The programme for the day will be as follows:
