1993 – 1994: Purchase of property to be our temple
On
the inspiration of Bhagwanjibhai and his continuous prompting that
the mandal should purchase a property for regular swadhyay and a
mandir, an extensive search for a suitable property was started.
Laxmichandbhai was able to find the most appropriate property with
the planning permission for religious activities. On 07.02.1993,
a meeting of members was called and it was unanimously agreed to
purchase the property, then known as The Clinic, 1 The Broadway,
Harrow Weald. All the members present and others later committed
generous financial donations for the purchase of the property. The
property needed considerable repairs and renovations, which was completed
in record time and at most economic cost with the efforts of Laxmichandbhai.
The opening
ceremony was performed by Bhagwanjibhai in the presence of a large
gathering on the auspicious day of Gurudevshree's 104th Janma Jayanti
on 16.05.1993. The daily activities started with
full force and continues to date with Puja, Gurudevshree's pravachan
and swadhyay by our members Shree Premchand Meghji, Zaverchand Meghji,
Amubhai Haria, Shital M. Shah, Zaverchand Punamchand Shah and others.
The festivals of Paryushana, Mahavir Jayanti, Diwali, Gurudevshree's
and Bahenshree's janma jayanti and various other religious occasions
are celebrated each year.
1994 – 2001: Transformation of property into a temple
The time had arrived to renovate and extend the property befitting a temple and a decision to this effect was made by the members on 25.03.1994. The detailed study and planning was undertaken and at the Annual General meeting of the members on 16.05.1999, members unanimously approved the plans and gave a mandate to President Laxmichandbhai to carry out the project.
