Pathshala

by Secretary SDJA

Children’s English Pathshala

We have a fantastic children’s Pathshala at the Mandir that runs every Sunday morning. We currently run 3 classes, for children aged 4 onward.

Adult English Pathshala

From Wednesday September 13th, we will be running an adult Pathshala at the Mandir, that is open to all ages (even those that are not quite “adults”). We will be teaching the principles of Jainism from a foundation level in a very interactive manner. The classes will be broadcast live on You Tube, and will also be recorded so that you never have to miss a lesson.

We already have over 60 people interested in joining the classes, either in person or remotely, so don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity that may not come around again.

Kartik – Ashtanika Parva Celebration
Monday 7th – Monday 14th November, 2016

Nutan Varash na Abhinandan!

We hope you all enjoyed a spiritual and uplifting Diwali. We enjoyed seeing large numbers attend the Diwali programme at the Mandir over the weekend whilst we celebrated the Nirvan Ladoo ceremony for the first time along with Maha Abhishekh, children’s skit and a lively debate on Kram-Bandh-Paryay vs Purusharth.
Next Monday is the start of the Nandishvar Ashtanika Parva that takes place over 8 days.

The Ashtanika Parvas are celebrated three time a year from the eighth day of the second fortnight of Kartik, Fagun and Ashad months where Dev travel to Nandishwar Dhweep.

The Jain community generally celebrates this great festival with profound religious fervour. In many centres the religious ritual of Siddhachakra Vidhan is arranged and external scholars would deliver lectures on subjects of life and soul.
At the present time we cannot travel to Nandishwar Dhweep but we are still able to celebrate it’s importance and relevance with the same spirituality.

Saurabhji will have daily lectures for these 8 days from Monday November 7th – Monday November 14th from 8 to 9 pm everyday; he will lecture on aspects of ‘Moksh Marg Prakashak’.

We sincerely hope as many of you that can will take advantage of this and mark a very appropriate start to your spiritual new year!
