Children’s Pooja

by Secretary SDJA

On Sunday 18th February we will be holding our first Children’s Pooja. The Pooja will be conducted between 9.30 and 10.30am, in place of the regular Pooja.
In this Pooja we will be giving children the opportunity to perform Ashtdravya Pooja. The Pooja thalis will be provided, along with Pooja songs transliterated to English, so the children can follow along.
This is a brilliant opportunity for children and adults alike to learn why and how we should perform Pooja. The event is open to all, so please come along to enjoy this new intiative being delivered by your cultural team.
For any children that will be attending, please provide their names, either by messaging 07817 319838, or by emailing events@mahavirjaintemple.com. This will enable us to ensure we have sufficient Pooja thalis available.

Bhakti evening Sat 20th Jan

by Secretary SDJA

The first Saturday evening event will be held on Saturday 20th January, between 7pm and 8.30pm. The evening will be a mix of Bhakti (with live musicians), and some light games (time permitting). All are welcome to attend, and we especially encourage those with children to come along, as we will be singing some child friendly English bhaktis, along with easy to follow traditional bhaktis, that will be written up in traditional font for anyone who cannot easily read in traditional languages.
Although the event is designed for children to get involved, everyone should come along to make the evening as lively as possible, and to encourage our younger generation to increase their participation in Mandir activities. We should also use this as an opportunity to spend more quality time, interacting with our fellow Sadharmis, young and old, and regardless of learning level.

SHREE DIGAMBER JAIN ASSOCIATION www.mahavirjaintemple.com

Jai Jinendra!
Many thanks to all of you for having responded to the adult Pathshala survey. Based on the data, and on suitable teacher availability, we have decided to hold the Pathshala every Wednesday only. The classes will be conducted in English language, and will start from Wednesday 13th September. They will run from 8:15pm to 9:30pm every week at the Mandir.
We encourage anyone looking to join the classes to attend in person, since it will make a vast difference to the learning experience. However, if anyone really cannot make it to the Mandir, we plan to broadcast the classes on YouTube Live. The broadcasts will be recorded too, so that they can be watched back at leisure in case you miss a class.
If you have not already been in touch regarding the Pathshala, but are interested to join (either in person or remotely), please can you send an email to sdjapathshala@gmail.com ASAP.

Regards & Jai Jinendra!
