Pledges for Das Laxan Puja this year are £21/day or £51 for all 10 days, please inform the EC should you wish to sponsor the Puja on any of the days. Overall, we will endeavour to adhere as closely as we can with the above timings but please bear with us if we are by a few minutes. Pt Virendraji will be taking the following topics during Paryushan Parva:

Mornings: Samaysar Moksh Adhikar
Evenings: 6 Dhala and/or Moksh Marg Prakashak

Should anyone wish to host Pt Virendraji during his stay, please contact any of the EC. The period of hosting is flexible and we can accomodate even a few days per household. The benefits of hosting a Vanchankaar extends across the entire family generations and having such exclusive access to a Jain scholar can be very advantageous to address one’s queries, cement understanding and open up new avenues of thought.

Dhwaja Rohan & Swami Vatsalya Bhojan

The Dhwaja Rohan ceremony and Swami Vatsalya bhojan will take place on Sunday 18th September 2011. The Dhwaja is a symbol of any Mandir to highlight to any Saadharmi that here resides a virtual Samovasaran! and the Dhwaja Rohan (flag raising) ceremony is symbolic in cementing that Jain Dharma is well and truly alive in this 5th era. We will complement the day with the annual Swami Vatsalya Bhojan, a delightful and almost inherent event where fellow Saadharmis will come together to mark the end of Paryushan, giving us an opportunity to strengthen the unity and spirit of our Mandal. On this day, we will conduct Jinendra Maha-Abhishek at a later time to enable those that may have not participated or witnessed this wonderful and humbling ceremony before. It is an ideal opportunity to introduce this privileged activity to the younger generation and we would enourage all families with little ones to attend.

The programme for the day will be as follows:

08.15 – 09.15:  Gurudev’s CD Pravachan
09.15 – 10.30:  Jinendra Maha-Abhishek & Puja
10.30 – 11.15:  Swadhyay
11.15 – 12.00:  Dhwaja Rohan
12.30 – 14.00:  Swami Vatsalya Bhojan at Harrow Teachers College, Tudor Road, Harrow, HA3 5PQ

To enable an accurate list for catering purposes, please give your names if you will be attending to Dilipbhai or Sandipbhai. The bhojan will be free for all members however it does require to be funded as a separate event. We estimate that the average cost per person inclusive of meal, hall hire, etc is £10 and the Mandal would need to raise at least £2000 towards this. We would therefore welcome any donations towards the bhojan fund, please contact any of the EC should you wish to contribute. There will be a £5 charge for any guest/non-members over 10 years. Also, on the day, we would be very grateful for any volunteers who are able to help.
